• Tinnitus can only be heard in the ears. This is apparent for some. Other sufferers hear tinnitus in their heads. Some even say they seem to hear the sound hovering around their heads.

• Tinnitus is degenerative and it worsens with time. Some patients say this is true. On the other hand, others testify the contrary. People can adapt to having tinnitus. Seeking good treatment for tinnitus most likely results to feeling better. In time, tinnitus becomes more bearable and less noticeable.

• Tinnitus is something you cannot do anything about. This is false. There is no absolute cure for tinnitus, yes. However, it is untrue that you are left with no option. Drug therapy, ear masking device, relaxation, and natural remedy offer benefits to sufferers. In time, you actually adapt to the noises inside your ears.
